Social Committee

Just what is the “Social Committee” and what is their purpose? The Social Committee was formed in early May by Lauren Miller (Chair) and Cathy Miller (Co-Chair). Our purpose is to promote use of the Gatewood facilities with various activities for adults, children, and families. We have been doing this by planning and implementing various events. In June we held our “Meet and Greet” which was well attended. Approximately 100 people were there! At that event we had residents fill out a survey to show their interest in future activities. (Residents who were unable to attend were encouraged to pick up a survey from Donna in the Clubhouse office or complete one online.) Based on the results of the surveys we received, we hosted an Ice Cream Social in July and a Wine and Cheese Tasting in August. Our next event is this coming Saturday, September 4-a College Football Kickoff Tailgate! If you love college football, we hope to see you there! Two 70” TV’s have been added to the bar in the clubhouse in anticipation of this event! Future events-dates to come later-are a Trunk or Treat in October, Wreath Making in November, and Cookies with Santa in December.
We are currently a committee of five, but would like to have two more members join us. If you aren’t interested in serving on the committee, we still need extra help in setting up for events.
