Manager’s Report
On Sunday, January 16th Gatewood was impacted by severe winter storm that caused four trees to fall across several of your roads. These occurred on Gatewood Drive just inside of the front entrance, the upper end of Glenridge Circle, the intersection of Parkwood Road/Tall Pines Trail, and along the upper end of Tall Pines Trail. Fortunately, we wer able to ride the roads and identify these sections what were impassable. A local tree contractor was able to be engaged immediately, and he was able to respond right away and cut and remove from the streets each tree. This was a big relief and ensured all our roads were usable.
With many areas of our town being impacted with the loss of electrical power, we received numerous questions related to Gatewood and our front gate operation. How would it be impacted if Gatewood lost power. Our front gate has a back-up battery that will automatically open both entry and exit sides of the front gate. This is reassuring for us to all know. It is worth noting, the exit gate does not have this battery back-up feature.
Debris Pickup Tips – The County picks up yard debris around the first day of each month. If you put your yard debris out after the first week of the month, it will sit there for 3-4 weeks before being picked up and this can detract from the beautiful neighborhood we live in. Management ask homeowners to try to consider this when you are doing yard work. If possible, please wait and place your yard debris out closer to the end of the month.
