Manager’s Report
Future Projects Approved
Brookfield Drive infrastructure
- Plans are in place to lower the upper lake this summer in order to dredge the sediment and to install a sediment trap on the upper side of the dam. This will help minimize the sediment inflow into the lake.
- Refurbish the gazebo
- Remove the tree stumps above the gazebo
- Replace the barrier fence along the side of Brookfield that boards Woodside Subdivision
Gatewood Drive Dock
- The dock will be cleaned and stained/painted. While we are having this project done we will also stain/ paint the refurbished dock on Tall Pines Trail.
Speed Limit Signs and Stop Signs in the Neighborhood
We continue to have problems with speeding and drivers not stopping at the various posted intersections. We would like to remind all residents and their guests; Gatewood speed limit is 25 MPH. We will be installing additional speed limit signs soon along Gatewood Drive, Brookfield Drive and Parkwood Road. For those residents who are abiding by these posted limits we say, “Thank You”. We hope all residents, guests and outside visitors will be more observant of these posted speed limit signs.
We continue to observe many drivers who do not slow down or come to a complete stop at the posted stop signs. This is a concern and causes us worry. We hope this situation will improve, avoiding us from engaging law enforcement deputies from coming into the neighborhood issuing citations.
