Inside the Gate – October 2023

Help — Get Involved

All residents—long-time homeowners and new residents—can contribute to making our community a great place to live by volunteering a few hours a month in a number of areas.
Any association member in good standing is welcome to volunteer.

The next time you’re looking for an activity or a way to meet your neighbors, consider participating on an association committee or volunteering to plan a casual neighborhood social gathering. Your ideas, time, and effort will be a valuable contribution to making a neighborhood event successful.

Contact an association board member soon to ask how you can get involved in our community. Who knows? There may even be a vacancy on an association committee that should be filled by someone just like you.

It is time for nominations to the 2024 Board. The method of nomination and election for this year is as follows:

  • Term of the board is for a period of three (3) years
  • The method of nomination is a single slate process with a procedure of petition

As per our By-Laws, each year the Nominating Committee presents a single slate of Property Owners to the Board of Directors for approval. For the coming year, we have four (4) positions available.

The slate, approved by the Board, is submitted to the membership for election. In order to place additional members in nomination, a member must submit a petition by December 1, 2023, consisting of the signatures of fifteen (15) property owners in good standing.

If no petition is filed within the time period, the nominees are declared elected to the Board.

If a petition is received, that nominee will be added to the ballot and mailed to the voting membership, at which time each Property Owner will vote for persons to serve on the Board of Directors. The candidates receiving the most votes will become members of the Board.

Halloween Safety Tips

  • Please watch your speed on Halloween due to increased foot traffic.
  • Pedestrians, please walk facing traffic.

Residents, if you plan to give out treats on Halloween, keep these things in mind:

  • Make sure your walkways are clear and well-lit. Turn on your front porch light to “signal” you are participating.
  • Secure pets for the duration, they may not appreciate the noise and costumes.

Parent Reminders

  • Do not let children trick or treat alone, adult supervision is encouraged.
  • Choose costumes that are easy to walk in and well-fitted, masks should not impair vision.
  • Take a flashlight and wear light-colored or reflective clothing.

Have fun! This is a great time
to meet neighbors of all ages! Residents and Members under 13 are invited

Tuesday, October 31st to “trick or treat” at the Clubhouse between 4 PM & 6 PM.
