The Clubhouse committee is so proud of how much progress has been made at our Clubhouse in 2021. We are also VERY excited about the many other plans we have in store for 2022 as we continue to work to make our Clubhouse a viable asset and a wonderful amenity for our community. All events over the last few months were great and it was so nice to see them so well attended. Our clubhouse was decorated beautifully over the holidays thanks to both the Social Committee and Clubhouse Committee. We want to thank everyone involved to this point and look forward to seeing more of you in the future!

Friday Happy Hour

We are excited to announce that Calhoun’s will have regular Happy Hours every Friday at 5:00. Watch for the different activities each week. Also don’t forget that Calhoun’s Table is there for anyone that would like to bring appetizers to share, and Calhoun’s offers a “Charcuterie board for Two” available for $8.00.

Yoga

Don’t forget our Yoga Classes that will help us all get back into shape that many of our neighbors have been attending every Saturday morning at 9:30 will start back on January 8th. Yoga is BACK this Saturday! And every Saturday morning at 9:30am and is FREE to Gatewood members. This is an hour class and is appropriate for all levels, beginners through advanced! Members may bring a guest for the fee of $10.00 cash. Please text Bess Park at 864-337-4169 to reserve your spot to avoid arriving to a full class.

Regifting Party

Don’t put away that gift you will NEVER use – We are having a Post Jingle Regifting Party! At our first Happy Hour of 2022 – Friday, January 7th we will have a regifting party for anyone that wants to participate. You know that gift (or gifts) you got for Christmas that you will NEVER use, we have an enjoyable and creative way you can REGIFT them! Place it in a brown paper bag and close it up tightly. You can use a grocery bag or lunch bag, depending on the size needed. If you have problems finding brown bag(s) we will have some at the office of the clubhouse the week before. Then bring it to our Happy Hour at Calhoun’s on Friday, January 7th any time after 5pm and we will have a table set up where you “bring a gift, take a gift”! We have a drink and share some time together as we also enjoy watching everyone open their NEW gifts.

Volunteers Needed

Remember that the Library at the clubhouse is set up very nicely for anyone that would like to come by and borrow/leave a book, read a while, or work a jigsaw puzzle. It would be WONDERFUL if someone would like to take the lead on starting a Gatewood Book Club that could meet in the Library weekly!

How would you like to help your community? You might not have time to serve on a committee, but there are many other ways you could
help! We need your help as we try to revitalize the Gatewood Community following a couple of difficult years.

Examples of ways you could help are:

  • Helping set up/clean up after events
  • Helping during events
  • Putting up/taking down holiday decorations
  • Helping organize inventory
  • Painting
  • Bartending in Calhoun’s

Not only would you be helping us revitalize, but it is also a great way to get to know your neighbors! If you can help, please email or call Donna Hasting and she will add your name to the “Gatewood Volunteer” list! Thank you and we hope to see your name on the list!
